About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties
Serve as an assistant to Human Resources Specialists working in a Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC).
Perform a wide variety of technical support duties in one or more of the following human resources management programs.
Perform classification reviews by gathering information through audits with incumbents, discussions with supervisors, and reviewing classification standards and organization charts.
Provide recruitment and placement support services to Human Resources Specialists.
Use personnel computer, word processing and/or other office automation equipment and various software programs to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve and print a variety of documents.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is subject to Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel up to 10%.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
For the GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing customer service to customers related to human resources matters; 2) Utilizing automated systems to process actions such as coding personnel actions, in-processing new hires documentations, and preparing routine reports; and 3) Assisting staffing specialists in carrying out a wide range of tasks related to recruitments and employee on-boarding. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
For the GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing customer service to customers related to human resources matters; 2) Utilizing automated systems to process actions such as coding personnel actions, in-processing new hires documentations, and preparing routine reports; 3) Assisting staffing specialists in carrying out a wide range of tasks related to recruitments and employee on-boarding; and 4) reviewing job requirements to determine qualified candidates for lower grade positions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
