About the Position:
Duties
Oversees the preparation, review and maintenance of long range, special and alternate plans providing the optimum use of active Army and Reserve Component resources and support from Air Force, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard for emergency situations.
Make independent decisions and recommendations, submitted to the Command Group and higher authority for final approval. Studies and interprets plans, ARs, directives, policies
Perform preliminary research and determines procedures for collection, analysis and evaluation of data pertinent to or affecting military or civil plans for military support during disasters or emergencies.
Furnish current information on changes in policies, doctrine and regulations.
Review supporting plans from subordinate installations and tactical units to ensure that they are current, approved, published, distributed and exercised as required. Prepares local regulations and exercise plans.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time to attend training.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 39 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- The duties of this position may require the incumbent to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis, based on the needs of the organization.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes which includes developing operation plans and providing analysis on operations in response to a crisis; Supervise and monitor installation continuity of operations, plans, and policies; Develop long and short-range plans, policies, and exercises as they relate to Operations, and Installation Contingency Plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
