Duties
Serves as the Aquatics Program Manager responsible for the daily operation and supervision of aquatic fitness, training and recreational programs, personnel, and classes at aquatic facilities.
Works under the direction of the Installation Sports and Fitness Director or Chief, DMWR.
Manages multiple indoors and outdoors pools. Provides overall supervision of the aquatic programs. Establishes and reviews the Aquatic Risk Management plan for all aquatic facilities.
Responsible for planning and administering a wide range of fairly typical, conventional and well-established basic aquatic activities.
Plans and coordinates details for reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic, fitness, instructional, and joint community programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Possesses demonstrated experience in planning, administering and executing aquatic programs. This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor aquatic programs and facilities. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level. An undergraduate or graduate degree in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology may be substituted for six (6) months of the required work experience.
Possesses and maintains the following certifications:-American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid-CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED-Lifeguard Instructor (Red Cross)-Water Safety Instructor (Red Cross)-Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator(CPO) certification
In addition, for facilities that use Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the O2 Administration certification (Red Cross or installation offered training) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty.
1. Highly Desirable:-Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (Red Cross)-Water Safety Instructor Trainer (Red Cross)-Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair); -Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification or Aquatic Exercise Association Instructor; -Adapted Aquatics Instructor-SCUBA Diving Instructor (PADI, NAUI, YMCA or equivalent)
Highly Preferred Criteria:
All questions must have a response.
Must possess 4 years of aquatic experience in programs with more than 1 pool.
Must possess at least 2 years of work experience with Military Unit Training including OSUT units and the requirements for Water Survival
Must possess over 2 years teaching WSI and Lifeguarding classes.
Must possess 2 years of demonstrated experience processing and uploading DAR reports and 2 years demonstrated experience working Rec Trac and Web Trac software systems
