Duties

You will have the ability to process complex technical information and provide effective communication. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all backflow concerns and information related to backflows, to include distributing critical information for water safety and other compliance requirements. You will be knowledgeable in Cross Connection installation and movement, with a background and aptitude to develop knowledge about maintenance, supply, and property accountability. You will be able to identify maintenance and accountability requirements for the Base. You will have the ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision, which includes maintaining a computerized database of facilities with backflow device by type, make, serial number and location.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • The work requires extended periods of standing, walking, stooping, or carrying heavy loads.
  • Work is performed in warehouses, offices, and trade shops; the incumbent is exposed to heat, cold and dust.
  • May be required to work in confine spaces; this position may require the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.
  • The employee may be required to The employee must possess a State valid driver's license. Work overtime.
  • The applicant/incumbent must be able to obtain a "Favorably Adjudicated" Access National Agency Check with Inquiries. Failure to successfully meet the Secret Security Clearance eligibility requirement is grounds for removal.
  • Misuse of government IT systems is cause for disciplinary action, including removal.
  • The employee must possess or be able to obtain within 120 days of hire all Cross Connection Certifications required by the state of California and the county of San Bernardino.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting inspections, surveys and monitoring the maintenance, supply and property accountability related to cross connection AND use of potable water systems.
