About the Position: As Deputy Operations Project Manager, shares fully in managing the operations and maintenance of the Bonneville Lock and Dam, which provides hydropower, navigation, fish and wildlife management, and recreation.
You will share management and coordination of the various and diverse programs and functions of this multipurpose facility to include Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, Natural Resource Management, and Environmental Stewardship.
Duties
This position is Supervisory, serving as the front line supervisor and rating official for environmental compliance, safety, and security.
Ensure safety procedures are in place provide a safe environment for employees and visitors.
Monitor progress, measures performance, and take necessary corrective action to maintain agreed-upon schedules and costs.
Prepares and justifies initial budget estimates for personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies required to carry out a safe and efficient operation and maintenance program.
The Deputy Operations Project Manager may be temporarily required to perform all supervisory duties of the Area Operations Project Manager or a lake Resource Manager during times when such positions may be vacant.
Serves as the direct first line supervisor and Rating Official for environmental compliance, safety, and security.
Coordinate the operations and maintenance of all operating projects

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience managing operation and maintenance activities of a large hydropower project. Specialized experience also includes oversight of the development/execution of an annual operating budget and environmental compliance programs.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
