This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Maintain product inventory utilizing the Automated Logistics Control System (ALCS). Conduct data inquiries in the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) to identify root causes of inventory variances. Perform material handling duties for missile components in support of their storage location. Handle explosive/hazardous items, complying with safety and special handling standards. Transport materials by operating motor vehicles (up to a 5-ton capacity) and/or forklifts (up to 10,000 lb. capacity)

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Business travel/temporary duty (TDY) may be required up to 15% of the time.
  • Mobility Agreement required to assigned areas world-wide to support the mission.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968; persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible.
  • Ammunition certification in accordance with AMC-R 350-4 is required within one year of appointment.
  • Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives Screening in accordance with AR 190-11 required initially and annually.
  • Pre-employment and annual physical examinations required.
  • Position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • Lifting requirement up to 50 lbs.
  • Position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a valid forklift license.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
  • This is a term position scheduled to last 13 months, may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years, and cannot be converted to permanent.
  • Term trial period of one year may be required.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens This is a term position not to exceed 13 months. Term positions may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years, and MAY NOT be converted to permanent. Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing product inventory on a daily basis using electronic databases; 2) Identifying causes of inventory discrepancies by performing data inquiries; 3) Ordering supplies and materials for packaging and shipping functions; 4) Scheduling and conducting physical inventory counts; 5) Ensuring that materials requiring special handling and protective packaging comply with established standards; and 6) Operating forklifts and motor vehicles to transport inventory. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
