This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER, Position Description Number D2165000 and is part of the OH G4 SMO CSMS, Ohio Army National Guard. The purpose of this position is to serve as a working leader of three or more Electronic Measurement Equipment Mechanics, WG-2602-11.

Duties

As a ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER, WL-2602-11, you will perform the following duties: Serves as a working leader of three or more Electronic Measurement Equipment Mechanic positions. Assigns work orders to specific team members and selects workers for various jobs on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Passes on to workers instructions received from the supervisor, demonstrates proper work methods, and starts work. Insures that needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations. Works along with other workers and sets pace performing non-supervisory repair work of the same kind and level as that done by the group led. Work performed by the incumbent involves diagnosis, repairs and maintenance on a variety of combat and tactical, and communication equipment. Assures that there is enough work to keep everyone in the work crew busy. Checks work in progress and when finished for compliance with supervisor's instructions, work orders, and established shop procedures on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines; and directs or advises other workers to follow supervisor's instructions and to meet deadlines. Answers workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Interprets work instructions and assists lower graded repairers or trainees in the more difficult and complex tasks. Provides information to the supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems. Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Sets up system test sets and various types of test equipment such as frequency meters, standing wave ratio meters, radio frequency (RF) power meters, function/ arbitrary waveform generator, distortion analyzers, time frequency work stations, oscillators, voltmeters, electronic counters, oscilloscopes, attenuators, decade resistors and capacitors, signal generators, stroboscope, tachometers, pneumatic and hydraulic pressure standards and other physical and electronic tests. Diagnoses equipment, makes repairs, and replaces defective parts/components such as integrated circuits, printed circuit boards, electronic condition coils, radiation detector boards/circuits, crystals, transistors, tubes, transformers, condensers, diodes, relays potentiometers, and related components. Calibrates and repairs TMDE within support capability and authority including various levels of calibration as designated in technical bulletins, manuals, etc. Performs functional electronic, physical, and radioactive testing involving interpretation and analysis of measurement data, in accordance with cyclic inspection requirements. Aligns, troubleshoots, tests, inspects, repairs, modifies, calibrates and certifies precision measurement equipment such as multi-meters, microwave equipment, oscilloscopes, temperature analyzers, mercurial barometers, gage blocks and micrometer caliper dimensional equipment, digital voltmeters, signal generators, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, torque testers, weight scales, electronic counters, radiation monitors, radix calibrators, and radiation dosimeters. Analyzes and isolates component malfunctions; calculates and determines tolerances; and performs tests and calibrations in accordance with instructions, which are often vague and incomplete, and may require the preparation of diagrams and instructions to facilitate the calibration action. Performs administrative functions in establishing and maintaining maintenance records on equipment maintained or repaired. Assists in the preparation of requests for required repair parts. Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: WL - Experience or training that has provided the candidate with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series. Experience or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to lead other National Guard employees engaged in the duties performed by this occupational series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WL (All Grade Levels) - In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
