Duties
Serve as fully independent advisor within geographical area of responsibility in accomplishing all objectives of the Soldier and Family Readiness Program (SFRP) for the Army National Guard to maximize retention and readiness.
Manages and operates family assistance center and provide assistance to commands within geographical area of responsibility in support of the SFRP.
Provide training and technical support to Commanders and Family Readiness Liaisons to support their Unit Family Readiness program and Soldier and Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs).
Submit information to support development and budget forecasting to support the Soldier and Family Readiness Support Program to higher headquarters.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- This position is INDEFINITE NTE 24 months, with possible extension up to 60 months, and permanent potential.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial vehicles to perform temporary duty assignments.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.

Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience, training, or knowledge in using and developing administrative procedures and practices. To include analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and knowledge of a substantial body of administrative or program principles, concepts, policies, and objectives. The ability or skill to collect and organize volunteer, family, and other related data, submit data and information through the State Family Program Director or Supervisory Family Support Services Specialist. Experience or knowledge in administrating a program that provides information about individual and family social problems and referral to social service programs and agencies. Experience, training, or knowledge to implement and maintain computer entry system to support reporting, for retrieval, and dissemination. Coach, mentor, train junior staff. Experience conducting briefings at the local, unit and state levels to provide necessary information to leadership, commanders, soldiers, families, Soldier and/or Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs) and community partners to stimulate interest and support to build program and community capacity. Basic knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies and precedents, which affect the use of program and related support resources in the area studied. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative personnel. Must have at least 12 months of specialized equivalent experience at the next lower grade.

The Human Resources Officer (HRO) is the final approval for all ETP waivers. If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application.
Education
You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-07/09. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
