You will serve as a INSTALLATION SECURITY PROGRAM MANAGER in the N34 Force Protection Department of COMNAVREGSW SDIEGO.

Duties

You will advise the Commanding Officer on all matters pertaining Naval Security Forces, to include; physical security, manpower, equipment, operations, and anti-terrorism programs. You will administer and manage Personnel, Information, or Physical Security programs to support operations. You will assess security threats or vulnerabilities to recommend mitigating actions. You will coordinate a Security Department that consists of military and civilian personnel. You will assign work to junior level employees on the basis of selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the employee.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Selectee must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing management, antiterrorism and physical security program guidance; 2) Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting deadlines, priorities, and schedules for completion; 3) Reviewing work methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness; 4) Developing performance standards for subordinates; 5) Identifying and apply new technologies, theories and security concepts for defense of the installation and mitigation of vulnerabilities; and 6) Overseeing local treat assessment information provided by other law enforcement and homeland security organizations.
