The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland's (USAO-MD) mission is to enforce and defend the laws of the United States of America through the prosecution of criminal cases brought by the Federal government; the prosecution and defense of civil cases in which the United States is a party; and the collection of debts owed to the Federal government that are administratively uncollectible.
Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Secretary (OA) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Maryland, located in Baltimore, Maryland, focusing in the areas of administrative and clerical work.
Typical work assignments will include:
Calendar management,
Travel arrangements,
Training management, and
Creating and editing correspondence.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National to apply for this position.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
To qualify at the GS-8 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing two (2) of the three (3) the duties listed below:
Supporting the day-to-day activities of an immediate office supervisor including calendar, phone, and correspondence;
Managing training requirements for a team or division; and
Assisting in the production of a variety of routine written documents utilizing varied and advanced functions in an office automation software.
To qualify at the GS-9 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-8 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) three (3) of the four (4) the duties listed below:
Managing the day-to-day activities of an immediate office supervisor including calendar, phone, and correspondence;
Managing training requirements for a department or organization;
Producing a variety of non-routine written documents utilizing varied and advanced functions using one or more office automation software;
Advising staff of required changes to written materials, such as directives, reports, correspondence, and/or telephone procedures.
Typing Proficiency: To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
