This position will support the Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) compliance within the region. This includes the review and evaluation of program grants submitted by the State, Tribal, and local governments for FEMA approval in accordance with all applicable environmental and historic preservation laws, regulations, and executive orders.

Qualifications

To qualify for this Environmental Protection Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following: Analyzing or reviewing projects and policies for compliance with laws and Executive Orders related to Environmental and Historic Preservation; Gathering information and data to draft reports; and Writing environmental and/or historic preservation compliance documents, such as standard operating procedures, guidance, consultation letters, Environmental Assessments, or Records of Environmental Consideration.
