The primary purpose of this position is to to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Material Management Flight, Customer Service Support sections.
Duties
Duty 1: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Material Management Flight Customer Service Center sections, ensuring that maintenance and supply work complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Duty 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to five GS-2003-07 employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
Duty 3: Represents the Material Management Flight Customer Service Center sections with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Duty 4: Manages the overall maintenance and supply interface, resolves supply support problems, reviews reports and coordinates supply related training needs for decentralized supply support personnel.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Supply ,Clerical and Technician Series 2005, There are no Individual Occupational Requirements for this series. Use the Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for this series in conjunction with the requirements described below..
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-08 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience providing technical assistance and guidance to supply specialists, operating officials, and employees on the regulatory requirements for submitting and processing a wide variety of supply transactions; Conducting extensive and exhaustive research of catalog databases and information to locate more cost effective available substitutes and new products; and researching manuals, regulations, plans, and other directives for valuation/development of new or revised policies and procedures.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions.
Knowledge of supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods.
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of m. organization.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve complex supply problems.
Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements.
Knowledge of computer equipment, data management and information management in order to perform duties related to data entry into logistics management systems and programs
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
