About the Position: Serves as Information Security (INFOSEC) and Cybersecurity Specialist for the Army University (ArmyU) G6 with responsibilities for ArmyU and subordinate organizations' systems. This is an Obligated Position: An "Obligated" position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or return rights based on having served an overseas tour(s). Duties

As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Ensure Applications and Systems, cybersecurity, and services provided to the organization are in compliance with cybersecurity policies and regulations. Identify possible system intrusions, abuse and unauthorized access. Develop local standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reduce errors and eliminate problems relating to information security procedures and requirements. Prepare and present various reports of computer related analysis including vulnerability reports, risk analysis reports, security incident reports, and project updates. Perform information assurance assistance visit and follows up on inspection reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Provide technical review, validation and oversight for proposed cybersecurity projects.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • May be required to work scheduled or unscheduled overtime in support of mission requirements.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays in support of mission requirements.
  • Baseline Certification for Information Assurance Manager II in one of the following: CAP, GSLC, CISM or CISSP required within 120 days of entry.
  • A Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 is required upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
  • This position has been designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
