Duties

The Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) is based at NIST and its mission is to enhance the productivity and technological performance of U.S. manufacturing. MEP is a public-private partnership. Through its collaborations at the federal, state and local level, MEP Centers work with manufacturers to develop new products and customers, expand and diversify markets, adopt new technology, and enhance value within supply chains. The MEP Program serves as a bridge to other organizations and federal research labs that share a passion for enhancing the manufacturing community. If selected, you will serve as an Administrative Specialist for the MEP group. If hired, your duties will include: Serving as the Admin Specialist to advise the MEP Senior Leadership team on matters such as status of work assignments and reviewing the content received for compliance. Interpreting & analyzing administrative guidance on a wide variety of topics including time and attendance, telework, travel, and bankcard to ensure compliance with federal rules and regulations. Providing guidance, advice, analytical oversight, and recommendations to internal staff including senior officials on work assignments, objectives, priorities, and deadlines. Researching and analyzing topics to develop memoranda, orders, reports of special boards and committees, and other reference materials. Developing presentations, briefings and memorandum on a variety of administrative and programmatic matters for internal and external audiences and to advise and assist with Senior management decisions. Analyzing complex cooperative agreement budgets and budget narratives for accurate entry into multiple information systems/databases.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must have one of the following: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-7 (or ZA-I at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as: experience in carrying out complex administrative assignments technical experience in writing and interpreting guidelines, analyzing options, and applying resolution to problems that arise experience completing reports and/or making recommendations to management experience researching background information for reference and program materials or Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
