Duties
You will compile data, analyze interrelationships between the data, and determine effects of changes in one factor on others.
You will assist survey crews with field data collection and processing.
You will provide technical advice and guidance to customers to facilitate GIS data collection, publication and usage.
You will provide digital and hard copy materials of use in reports and presentation.
You will be responsible for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of published products, either hardcopy or digital maps.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You are required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position requires you to lift/carry up to 50lbs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, developing, and establishing cartographic compilations for existing or proposed development plans; Providing technical advice and guidance to customers to facilitate GIS data collection, publication and usage.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on an equivalent combination of education and experience as follows:
Two full years of graduate education
OR
a master's degree
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited institutions.
