This National Guard position is for a HEALTH TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number NGD1724000 and is part of 114 FW MED GP. This is a Title 32, Dual-Status position.

Duties
As a HEALTH TECHNICIAN, GS-0640-8, you will:
This position is located in the Medical Group at an Air National Guard (ANG) Wing and reports to the Health System Specialist. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as the functional expert for issues pertaining to Aerospace Medicine and Force Health Management programs. Incumbent manages essential programs, which impact individual medical readiness (IMR) and personnel fitness for continued worldwide deployability. The position occupant serves as a member of or an advisor to, management boards and committees as well as Wing leadership regarding Force Health Management and Aerospace Medicine.

Qualifications
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in the following AFSC upon date of hire: AFSC 4A0X1, 4N0X1. The AFSC(s) require an aptitude of G44 and a physical profile of 333233G. Aptitude scores can be checked on the vMPF or at the Customer Service in the Force Support Squadron and physical profile in the medical squadron. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training which provided a basic knowledge of principles and practices related to the health care delivery system.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience in the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) listed below. Experience, education, or training which provided a working knowledge of missions, organizations, programs and requirements of health care delivery systems. Experience analyzing and recommending solutions to complicated problems. Experience developing and implementing various policies and procedures used in the state medical programs. Experience involving various administrative areas such as budget, personnel and public relations within a medical activity.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training.
Skill in recording and reporting information such as test results and giving preparatory instructions to patients for a variety of diagnostic procedures.
Skills in applying an extensive body of rules based on regulations, procedures, and precedents relating to programs.
Knowledge of information management systems and the ability to compile various special and recurring reports utilizing these systems.
Knowledge of records management programs with the ability to maintain records, analyze records and audit data.
Skill in identifying trends and patterns and reporting results to leadership for corrective action.
