Duties

You will review clearance request forms to detect obvious errors or omissions in the information. You will maintain records about clearances, individual clearance and related security records. You will review specific items or conditions on a physical security survey such as whether alarms are active, whether document and storage container user logs are properly filled in, whether visitor logs are in place and used, and similar activities. You will create and deliver presentations to employees concerning the procedural aspects of security programs.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

DG-02: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of general experience at or equivalent to the GS-1/3 grade level or DG-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate the following: demonstrates progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Examples of qualifying experience: maintaining records/files; reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness; and performing security checks. DG-03: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or DG-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing and maintaining clearance and facility documents/records; 2) Performing physical security of the facility; and 3) Creating and delivering presentations. Education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
