This position serves as an advance technician for outpatient care settings such as; primary care, mental health, and specialty clinics. As an ICT Generalist the incumbent may serve in a medical center, community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC), mobile medical unit or may have virtual/remote assignments.
Duties
Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performing ongoing patient care duties in a critical care setting under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, licensed independent provider (LIP), and/or advanced practice provider (APP) assigned.
Communicating effectively with their supervising physicians, licensed independent provider (LIP), and advanced practice provider (APP) to provide collaborative, timely and appropriate patient care.
Performing observation-based screening and collecting patient information in collaboration with licensed personnel.
Assisting in behavioral/psychiatric situations in a clinical care setting.
Assisting critical care licensed personnel with the delivery of care to patients with complex, specialized, and potentially life-threatening situations.
Operating specialized medical equipment.
Providing support, relief, and coverage as needed to central telemetry station.
Performing specimen collection.
Responding to medical emergencies on the facility grounds, and sometimes encounters situations which may be life threatening as part of the Rapid Response Team (RRT), Code Blue, or medical transport team.
Performs other duties as assigned within the training and competencies of the role.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/09/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
This position has an Individual Occupation Requirement (IOR):
Positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled; OR
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position.
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must also meet one of the following:
Specialized Experience: You must have one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes, but is not limited to: performing patient screening; performing vital signs and Point-of-Care testing; performing medication administration; performing specimen collection; and performing follow-up care. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment within your resume; OR
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level, you must have successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application. Education cannot be credited without documentation.; OR
Combination: Equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position. NOTE: Resume and Transcript Required.

Physical Requirements: Involves long periods of moving about the work unit. Work requires regular and recurring bending, lifting, stooping, stretching, lifting and repositioning patients, or similar activities.
