Duties

Prepare documents and maintain information in accordance with quality assurance surveillance checklists and reports. Maintain records and files of contract work being preformed. Create quality assurance surveillance plans, checklists, and reports to assure contractor is performing in accordance with contract documents. Coordinate with customers and contractors to determine the satisfaction of the work preformed. Prepare comprehensive reports detailing information on contractor performance.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

For consideration at the GS-07 Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing contract documents; monitoring the contractor's performance; maintaining inspection records; or preparing documents utilizing Microsoft Office suite. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Accounting, Business, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Engineering Technology and Finance. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. For consideration at the GS-08 Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interpret drawings, plans, and specifications; identify and correct deficiencies; resolve operational problems not fully covered by precedents; ensure appropriate interaction between components; recommend improved procedures; modify parts, data interpretation or analysis; prepare and present inspection and testing reports and documentation requiring a high degree of precision. OR Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; OR (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Add the two percentages For consideration at theGS-09 Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing contract documents such as cost estimates and contract modifications; monitoring the contractor's performance; reviewing contractor schedules and submittals; reviewing payment requests; or preparing documents or reports utilizing Microsoft Office suite. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Accounting, Business, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Engineering Technology and Finance. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
