You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Portsmouth of NMRTC PORTSMOUTH VA.

Duties

You will plan, program, and direct the environmental program. You will provide technical program direction and implement hospital staff coordination of all environmental quality program requirements. You will serve as subject matter expert to the Commanding Officer of command, on environmental program requirements. You will manage the Environmental Program of Naval Medical Center Portsmouth core site, Branch Clinics and Tricare Prime Clinics to ensure they are in compliance with applicable host command laws, codes, standards and regulations.

Requirements

Qualifications

For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Managing comprehensive environmental program in a medical hospital facility. - Utilizing environmental regulations. - Managing waste stream programs to include hazardous and medical waste. - Directly supervising personnel performing waste collections, sorting, and packaging for contractor disposal. Candidates in a developmental or next lower grade would be performing day to day waste stream management and interpretation/enforcement of environmental regulations. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
