About the Position: Serve as Procurement Technician within the Mission and Installation Contracting Command performing technician work that supports the management and oversight of the procurement of supplies, services and construction. Located at Fort Knox, KY.

Duties

Provide technical support to various procurement programs and systems Perform technician work to support management and oversight of procurement supplies, services/construction. Review various solicitation packages and attachments for incompatible information or administrative discrepancies. Monitor automated contract information management systems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Business travel will be up to 5% of the time.
  • Must submit Financial Disclosure Statement (OGE 450) upon entry into position and annually thereafter.

OR Education: Successful completion of four years of education above the high school level. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of post high school education and specialized experience that equates to one year of experience. For GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in the use of automated systems to complete administrative office support functions such as preparing, controlling, abstracting and reviewing procurement documents, ordering supplies, answering emails, maintaining calendars, and assisting with system questions.; experience working with various visitors, directing them to appropriate office representatives or answering questions when needed; and experience maintaining accurate files and supply levels with moderate levels of input and direction from a supervisor. For GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in work that involves performing procurement support duties; reviewing and monitoring contractor performance of project requirements; analyze invoices, contracts to clearly document and identify discrepancies; develop requested solutions for the Contractor, the Contracting office, and utilizing the GFEBS. Education
