About the position: This position will be assigned to the Dyess Outdoor Recreation. This position is considered Regular Full-Time (RFT). You are guaranteed 40 hours, You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Employees are eligible to earn annual/sick leave and sign up for benefits, to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and NAF Retirement.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience which has provided a general familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs. In addition, must have responsible experience in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of pools. Ability to plan, supervise, administer and carry our aquatic recreation programs. A current certification in Water Safety Instructing (SI) is highly desirable. Must have CPR for the Professional Rescuer which includes CPR for adult, child and infant), First Aid and be Lifeguard Instructor certified. All certifications must remain current during the period of employment. Knowledge of swimming facility rules, equipment and materials to perform standing and recurring tests of equipment and water. Must be able to successfully pass a physical examination as physical exertion is required in effecting a swimming rescue; must be able to lift and carry 45 lbs and over. Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator certification is desirable. Ability to safeguard and handle cash, cash register experience preferred but not necessary. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Will be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include evenings, weekends and holidays. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position is does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
