About the Position: This position is located within the Military Correctional Complex and requires frequent, direct contact with inmates. This position has been designated as a primary/rigorous and is eligible for Law Enforcement (LEO) retirement coverage. Duties

Plan, organize, schedule and assign work to subordinate workers within the laundry and dry cleaning facility. Spot-check work in progress or on completion. Explain work requirements, methods, policies and procedures. Investigate work-related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines cause then implements corrective action. Recommend hiring, promotion, and reassignments for employees. Develop performance standards and rate employees.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the employee to pass a Criminal History Background Check.
  • This position requires the employee to undergo screening for tuberculosis upon appointment and an annual re-evaluation.
  • This position is designated as a Primary LEO and the work requires frequent, direct contact in the detention of inmates convicted of offenses against the punitive articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
  • Regularly-assigned contacts with inmates expose the incumbent to daily stress and the threat of potentially dangerous situations such as verbal and/or physical attack by the inmate population.
  • The maximum entry age for positions covered under the special Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) retirement is 37 years old.
  • Individuals must be appointed by the last day of the month in which the individual becomes age 37. Individuals who are past the maximum entry age limit, but previously served in a primary position, may be reinstated.

  • IAW The Prison Rape Elimination Act, the MCC may not hire or promote anyone who may have contact with inmates, has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup community conferment facility, juvenile facility, or other institutions.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Personnel who enter the Military Corrections Complex (within or outside the fence line) consent to inspection of their person and property, including their vehicle.
  • Facility personnel must comply with all provisions of the 15th MP BDE Regulation 190-3, Rules of Conduct and ACC Policy Letter #17, Standards of Conduct.
  • This position is supervisory. A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 44 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • Facility personnel are required to complete the Army Corrections Command Pre-Service Training upon employment and complete 40 hours of training annually thereafter.

Employee is at risk for cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of driving accidents, when loading and unloading vehicle, when operating laundry equipment, from carts or machinery and performing related duties in the laundry plant areas. May be required to wear protective masks, gloves, or other gear. Works inside and outside and is occasionally exposed to bad weather conditions while loading and unloading vehicle. This position has been designated as a primary/rigorous and is eligible for Law Enforcement (LEO) retirement coverage under the provisions of title 5 USC 8336(c) and 8412(d) by DoD memorandum dated 19 August 2010. The maximum entry age for positions covered under this retirement is 37 years old. Retirement from this position is mandatory at age 57 with 20 years of LEO service. The maximum entry age may be waived under certain circumstances. Individuals who are past the maximum entry age limit, but previously served in a primary position, MAY be reinstated. The work requires frequent, direct contact in the detention of inmates convicted of offenses against the punitive articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
