The primary purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, execute, and orchestrate visit agendas, itineraries, and ceremonies, official social functions for U.S. and allied host support activities and amenities for all distinguished guests.
Duties
Schedule, plan, direct, and monitor cradle to grave requirements for the AETC Commander, AETC Deputy Commander and AETC Command Chief Master Sergeant.
Serve as protocol advisor to, and liaison for, AETC Commander, AETC Deputy Commander and AETC Command Chief Master Sergeant.
Develop and implement protocol policy and procedural guidance for AETC Commander, AETC Deputy Commander and AETC Command Chief Master Sergeant concerning official and proper protocol requirements for visiting dignitaries, conferences, special events, official meeting and briefings, miliary ceremonies, etc.
Execute funding for protocol functions for HQ Air Education and Training Command.
Use multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets.

- Incumbent may be required periodically work irregular shift/overtime in performing such duties

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes (1) knowledge of Air Force protocol regulations, and AETC administrative regulations and skill in applying this knowledge in planning, administering, and executive and support requirements; (2) knowledge of, and ability to apply, policies, practices and procedures for the managing of non-appropriated welfare funds, Commander's Special Morale and Welfare and an Official Representation Funds; (3) knowledge of the duties, priorities commitments, policies, and programs goals of organizations sufficient to perform non-routine assignments, such as independently noting and following-up on commitments made at meetings/conferences; shifting clerical staff in subordinate offices to respond to fluctuating workloads; advising other clerical staff on preparing correspondence, requirements for various reports, and interpreting new instructions and procedures; or locating and summarizing information from files and documents that requires recognizing which information is or is not relevant.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of official government protocol functions, administrative and security regulations, methods, and procedures.
Knowledge of the organizations existing programs and procedures.
Knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices to project, monitor, and document expenditures.
Knowledge of communication techniques, principles, and instruction to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in responding to work related problems.
Ability to coordinate with and advise others within HQ AETC and outside agencies.
Skilled in computer use to include typing, internet research, and office automation tools and techniques to support office operations such as electronic mail use, word processing, briefing construction and delivery, spreadsheet and database use.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: The VOW Act requires federal agencies to treat an eligible active duty service member as a veteran, disabled veteran, and preference eligible (as applicable) when applying for civil service positions before the effective release or discharge date. Appointment of military members before the release or discharge date is permissible if the member is on terminal leave.
