You will serve as a Supply Technician in the Logistics Division, S-4/Installations and Logistics Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR. You will serve as a Hazardous Material Minimization Center (HMMC) Technician.
Duties
You will perform significant database management duties tailored to Hazardous Material (HM) ordering, receipt, storage and disposal as well as maintaining documentation and historical data for all HM aboard MCAS Miramar.
You will ensure stock levels are available to meet customer requirements and to maintain inventory on hand to support the squadron maintenance and deployment requirements
You will will assist with the development, documentation and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) pertaining to the process of putting into the “Waste Stream” materials.
You will will maintain/change Barcode Printer printing preferences and settings for optimal performance as needed.
You will Identify, contain, label, store, dispose and record keep Hazardous Materials.
You will recommend the reuse and disposal of hazardous material, inspection of containers holding hazardous material, and the loading and unloading of hazardous material.
You will apply principles and concepts of hazardous materials/waste, recycling, pollution prevention, green procurement, spill response in program level of management

- You will be required to lift and carry weights up to 70 lbs. You may handle heavier items with weight lifting equipment or with assistance from coworkers.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Identifying, containing, labeling, storing, disposing and record keeping of Hazardous Materials; 2) Applying principles and concepts of hazardous materials/waste, recycling, pollution prevention, green procurement, spill response in program level of management; 3) Conducting pollution prevention (P2) reduction, waste minimization, recycling and green procurement with sustainable materials and Environmentally Preferable Products; and 4) Recommending the reuse and disposal of hazardous material, inspection of containers holding hazardous material, and the loading and unloading of hazardous material.
