About the Position: Serves as Financial Specialist (Military) in the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) under the general supervision and direction of the Human Resources Specialist/Adjutant.
Duties
Provide information to and assists patient personnel and/or their families in a variety of financial matters.
Prepare finance and entitlements checklist for both service member and family members.
Facilitate timely and accurate submission of travel vouchers from Soldiers on a per diem status.
Establish and maintains liaison and coordination with operating officials at all serviced activities to determine their needs for Financial Management data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certification position.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 25%.
- Pre-employment physical is required.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing financial entitlement and Military pay assistance; resolving financial problems; providing technical and fiscal advice to financial technicians; using several automated financial management systems; preparing and analyzing statistical reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Accounting or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
