You will serve as a Metalizing Equipment Operator in the MRO Production Department, Production Lines Division, FRCSE of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will use protective equipment (e.g., welding hood, gloves, ear plugs, light absorbing smock) to maintain safety while performing metalizing work.
You will read and interpret specifications, sketches, blueprints, technical directives, manuals, and shop orders to develop information on surfaces to be coated.
You will inspect critical parts of spray guns and seals to determine functional ability of equipment.
You will use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, digital pyrometers, calipers, gages [depth, height, surface]) to check the accuracy of metalizing work.
You will use different types of metals and alloys (e.g., steel, brass, copper, tungsten, titanium, aluminum, molybdenum, tantalum, carbide, nickel) for metalizing projects.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION performing the most difficult and complex tasks such as; 1. Develop programs for prototypes of experimental repairs involving the application of advanced thermal spray coatings in conjunction with HCAT (Hard Chrome Alternatives Team) and Material Engineering. 2. Determine and make adjustments through the computer control to the various gauges, meters, dials, and valves associated with the equipment. 3. Design and manufacture jigs and fixtures, and templates used in the metal spray process. 4. Perform quality assurance testing on test coupons to verify coat quality. 5. Determine types of gases to be used, wire and powder feeds, flow rates and distance of spray gun from work to achieve the best bonding characteristics.
