About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security - Range Branch on Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.
Duties
Responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled range and training land maintenance support for live fire and small arms ranges, training areas and training facilities.
Provide technical advice regarding range and training area maintenance requirements.
Responsible for operational and maintenance support of training devices associated with Preliminary Marksmanship Instruction (PMI) and devices used to support maneuver live fire exercises.
Operate motor vehicles (tractor, pick-up truck, all-terrain vehicles, ground maintenance equipment etc.) with a gross weight of up to 30,000 pounds to transport materials, equipment and supplies on the installation.
Requirements

- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires a Pre-employment physical.
- This position requires the ability to lift approximately 80 lbs.
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- This position has an irregular tour of duty and may require shift work and/or work on rotating shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays and in other situations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Scheduling training areas, ranges, and facilities; 2) Inspecting training areas to determine compliance with safety; AND 3) Providing clerical support operating a computer on automated ranges and maneuver live fire ranges.

Education:Successful completion of one full year (18 semester hours) of progressive higher graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree that is directly related to the work of the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 9) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50 that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package. You must meet the one year time-in-grade requirement so you will need to provide an SF-50 which clearly demonstrates you meet the time-in-grade requirements. Failure to do so may affect your rating or consideration for employment.
