The Human Trafficking Prevention and Education Pilot Coordinator is a Social Work Program Coordinator whose primary responsibilities are to provide clinical evidence based services including, assessments and interventions; program development; Veteran, family, Caregiver and staff education on human trafficking; community outreach; resource development; continuous quality improvement activities; and evaluation/consultation.

The Human Trafficking Prevention and Education Pilot Coordinator develops and implements the Human Trafficking Pilot and insures compliance and collaboration with local facility and the VA Central Office Intimate
Partner Violence Assistance Program initiatives. The incumbent is administratively responsible and accountable for the clinical and program development and effectiveness of the Human Trafficking Pilot Program within all practice areas of the health care system, to include outreach and educational presentations to Leadership, Services and Programs.
The incumbent will be responsible for developing training materials to educate VA facility staff, plan a minimum of one annual human trafficking awareness campaign per year, conduct targeted human trafficking screening for Veterans and participate in an innovation project.
The incumbent collaborates and offers consultation with various services and programs within the health care system to promote human trafficking awareness and develops partnerships with community stakeholders.
The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert in the area of human trafficking and develop a human trafficking-specific resources directory for health care system employees.
The incumbent manages and controls the use of data related to the Human Trafficking Prevention and Education Pilot program evaluation and briefs Service, Leadership and VA Integrated Service Network (VISN) as needed.
The incumbent will communicate effectively both orally and in writing to people from varied backgrounds and attend scheduled meetings, required training and consultation.
The incumbent may be requested to provide; supervision of social workers for advanced practice licensure or the graduate trainee program, act as a mentor/provide orientation for less experienced social workers, participate or chair committees or groups that impact social work practice and/or lead roll out of evidence based practices.
The incumbent performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
Basic Requirements:
Citizenship. Be a citizen of the United States.
Education. Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work.
Licensure. Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
English Language Proficiency. Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. § 7403(f).
Grade Determinations: In addition to the basic requirements for employment, the following criteria must be met:
Social Worker (Program Coordinator) GS-12
(1)Experience/Education. The candidate must have at least two years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure and should be in a specialized area of social work practice of which, one year must be equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Social Worker (Program Coordinator) have experience that demonstrates possession of advanced practice skills and judgment. Social Worker (Program Coordinator) are experts in their specialized area of practice. Social Worker (Program Coordinator) may have certification or other post-masters training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience in a specialty.
(2) Licensure/Certification. Social Worker (Program Coordinator) must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examination for advanced practice) and they must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the experience above, candidates must demonstrate all of the following KSAs:
(a) Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring.
(b) Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program.
(c) Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program.
(d) Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s).
(e) Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with program development to include developing training materials; comfortable with public speaking and facilitating education and familiarity with human trafficking as a community issue.

Physical Requirements: The work is community based and standing and walking are regular daily activities. The work requires that the incumbent to drive on a regular basis as a significant amount of his/her time will be spent in the community meeting with Veterans, landlords, and other community agency representatives. A valid driver's license and ability to drive a government vehicle is required.
