This position is located in Refugee, Asylum & International Operations, STAR Division. As a Supervisory Adjudication Officer (STAR Division Chief), you will be responsible for providing extensive knowledge on statelessness, Terrorist Inadmissibility Grounds, and research issues. As well as manage a range of demands with potential implications on immigration operation on a global scale.

Duties

Provide briefings as requested in response to a change in law or policy and outline potential impacts; provide options to senior leadership and make recommendations. Manage of a wide variety of complex administrative, functional, and policy requirements as it pertains to inspection, investigations, and adjudications across USCIS. Develop new work procedures and methods to address efficacy issues and program needs. They also modify work operations to establish and satisfy priorities in the face of shifting program requirements. Oversee a wide range of complex administrative and operational needs in order to direct studies and analyses that may affect immigration operations worldwide. Supervise the preparation of advisory reports for specific cases, along with creating and executing agency guidelines, rules, processes, and training.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/05/2024. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/05/2024. GS-15: You qualify at the GS15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Directs a program which involves knowledge and experience in conducting inspections, investigations and compliance tasks involving adjudication processes. Operates programs in constantly changing political, cultural, environmental, and socio-economic conditions. Maintains relationships with internal and external partners across the federal government to plan policies and procedures on behalf of the agency. Creates innovative techniques and protocols to monitor efficiency and fulfill program requirements. Analyzes, researches, develops, and drafts new regulations, policies and procedures.
