Duties

1. Directly assists the commander/director in the management of all administrative support program functions. Administers programs and serves as the primary source of information. 2. Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs. Ensures unit program compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and squadron commander directives. 3. Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel flight on military and civilian personnel issues. Stays abreast of current personnel issues and provides explanations of personnel-related requirements, regulations, and procedures to supervisors and managers. 4. Assists in planning, administering, and monitoring manpower resource requirements. Serves as the point of contact for both civilian and military position utilization. Maintains manpower manning documents. 5. Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization. Develops, establishes, updates, and maintains office procedures and records/files of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-01 equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the NK-01 or GS-04 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service. Specialized experience includes: planning and organizing management programs and functions of an organization such as EM Unit Scheduler, PEX administrator, AF Records Information Management System (AFRIMS), Publications & Forms Monitor, WAPS monitor, Government Travel card (GTC), Defense Travel System (DTS), fitness, Government Purchase cards (GPC), safety, security, supply, civilian timecard and unit recognition programs; assisting/supporting military and civilian personnel issues and manpower resource requirements; knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents; problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems; plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. OR EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience as described above may be used to qualify for this position. NOTE: percentages of education requirements and specialized experience requirements must add up to a minimum of 100% to meet the basic qualification requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization. 2. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. 3. Knowledge of structure, programs and work methods of organization for personnel/manning issues. 4. Skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems. 5. Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and possess the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. 6. Ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
