You will serve as a in the MATERIALS HANDLING INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR I in the DET YORKTOWN of NAVAL MUNITIONS CMD CONUS EAST DIV.
Duties
You will act as a first-line supervisor of multi-skilled work groups who perform a wide range of materials handling functions.
You will directly supervise Materials Handling Inspector Leaders and Materials Handling Inspectors.
You will be accountable to higher level supervisors for efficient materials handling functions involved in receiving, issuing, storing, segregating, selecting, handling, blocking and bracing of ordnance materials.
You will account for the work tasks assigned and the magazines/storage areas.
You will provide technical and on-the-job training and monitor worker performance.
You will recognize safety hazard and take immediate corrective action as necessary.
You will apply knowledge of explosives safety handling requirements, quality assurance inspection pertaining to ordnance materials, and security regulations.
You will apply knowledge of the functional characteristics and compatibility of conventional ordnance including ammunition, explosives, missiles and associated components.
You will apply knowledge of the preparation, certification, and transportation requirements and regulations governing commercial and military shipments of ammunition and explosives and other hazardous materials.
You will establish performance standards, evaluate work, and conduct progress reviews as needed.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certification in accordance with Naval Sea Systems Command Instruction (NAVSEAINST) 8020.9B (series). "Ammunition and Explosives Qualification Certification Program".
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid MHE (Materials Handling Equipment) operator's license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications

Performing quality inspections and enforcing safe work practices, good housekeeping, and security regulations.
