Joining the Secret Service, Office of Training, James J. Rowley Training Center will allow you to develop and provide data driven operations, analysis, and program management tasks to a broad range of basic and advanced training programs. This Data Scientist position starts at a salary of $112, 015 (GS-13, Step 01) with promotion potential to $145,617 (GS-13, Step 10).

Duties

The selectee will serve as a Data Scientist in the Office of Training, James J. Rowley Training Center. Typical work assignments include: Communicate complex data policies and concepts to various audiences. Collaborate with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to build and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation, and dashboards. Facilitate the management of electronic records in Cloud platforms such as Office 365, SharePoint, and One Drive. Advise agency leaders and stakeholders on forecasts in areas to include records, information, and knowledge management. Develop tools for processing and reporting operational and financial data. Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements AND Minimum Qualification/Specialized Experience Basic Requirement: A. Possession of a Bachelor's or higher degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or a field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. -OR- B. Possession of a combination of education and experience. This is defined as courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. AND Specialized Experience: GS-13: You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $112,015.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Utilizing various analytic or statistical software to collect and prepare data for analysis; Conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis to create data visualizations; and Reviewing data collection and management policies and activities to create program improvements.
