You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER (FLO) in the S-4 OPERATIONS of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS BASE.

Duties

You will unload incoming shipments, scan bar codes, or key receipt information into automated record system. You will report tampered or broken seals on containers or damaged or deteriorating incoming shipments to supervisor. You will transport materials from receiving areas to storage and forward receipt documentation to the proper channels. You will store, stack, palletize, and/or rotate items considering their use, size, shape, quantity, and special handling requirements. You will operate forklift trucks and automated material handling and identification equipment to include mobile stock selectors and electromechanical automated equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment and an annual physical examination for this position.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Forklift License within 6 months of employment.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Operating mechanized equipment including utility vehicles, forklifts, mobile stock selectors, and electromechanical automated equipment.
