About the Position: Position serves as Victim Witness Liaison Officer in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate. Responsible for victim and witness travel, post-trial actions, legal research, and trial assistance. Expert on both legal and administrative matters pertaining to all aspects of courts-martial. Position is located at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, CA.
Duties
Serve as the Victim Witness Liaison for the National Training Center.
Develops organizational procedures, coordinates with investigative agencies, and maintains statistics and research for organization.
Conduct legal research, processes post-trial actions, coordinates witness travel, coordinates involuntary/excess leave following court-martial
conviction.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience or education requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service which includes the following. Interpreting laws and regulations to assist in research and preparing legal opinion; 2) Drafting legal and non-legal briefs, memoranda, reports, and correspondence utilizing automated systems and software; AND 3) Conducting summaries of legal analysis to provide technical expertise in a legal office setting.

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M.
in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position..

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the
computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of
experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate
semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
