You will serve as a SAPR COMMAND VICTIM ADVOCATE (SAR WF) in the HQ US MARINE COPRS of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BLAZ. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 12.25% will be added to the stated salary. Duties

You will provide professional and comprehensive advocacy services to individuals exhibiting a wide variety of issues related to being a victim or survivor of sexual assault. You will attend Sexual Assault Case Management Group (SACMG) meetings when a case is presented involving a victim with whom the SAPR Command VA has had contact in order to advocate for the victim and to ensure the victim's needs are met. You will maintain follow-up contact with the victim as requested by the victim. You will advise the victim of the impact of sexual assault on family members and offer referral information for family members. You will report all victim's support services and response information to the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) and consults with the SARC on an ongoing basis to ensure comprehensive care for victims throughout the care process. You will conduct professional level and administrative educational and interactive training workshops/seminars on sexual assault.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license and Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) driver’s license.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing sexual assault advocacy services; developing and implementing crisis plan of actions and sexual assault assistance plans; assisting with developing and coordinating command SAPR prevention and awareness campaigns or events; and conducting education and training sexual assault workshops/seminars. Education

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must posses:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

or

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

or

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

GS-09:
2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
or
master's or equivalent graduate degree
