This position is part of the Security and Intelligent Documents, Government Publishing Office in Washington , District of Columbia.
Duties
Ensuring the inventory of critical items is adequate so that routine production activities are not interrupted or delayed.
Reporting non-complying raw materials to SID Management and ensuring raw materials not meeting requirements are not accepted.
Overseeing the evaluation of warehousing and storage, the efficiency and accountability of receipts issues and distribution of items
Monitoring the value and size of the inventory to ensure consistency with the policy.
Acting as Liaison between Production Support and the Quality Control Officer to ensure that product produced at each phase meets criteria established.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is Required.
- Selectee must successfully pass pre-employment prior to appointment.
- Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Confidential Financial Disclosure report may be required.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Inventory Management Specialist, PG -2010-13, you must meet the following requirements:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Specialized experience equivalent to the PG-12 grade level or higher in the Federal Service includes:
1) Implementing Project Management concepts to initiate, plan, execute and track various projects to completion 2) Monitoring inventory stock levels through manual counting or automated inventory management software such as Microsoft office suite, Contract Lifecycle Management or Oracle AND 3) Use of modern inventory and distribution systems including just-in-time concepts, storage, distribution, preservation, and handling of materials to minimize inventory, reduce inventory costs and increase efficiency.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
