You will serve as a Secretary in the Ocean Science Division of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY CONUS.
Duties
You will manage the office of the division head.
You will keep the Division head's calendar and schedule appointments and meetings.
You will review all outgoing correspondence for proper format, correct grammatical content, and ascertain that established policy has been followed.
You will use various software packages such as oracle for management information systems, Microsoft word, excel. adobe, scanner software, electronic storage, email, etc..
You will instruct and assist the various clerical support staff on procedural matters and proper correspondence format.
You will review travel arrangements for the division head and updating the travel calendar.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS 1-4) or pay band (NC-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Managing calendars, arranging conferences, meetings and other official events; 2) Receiving all calls and visitors, ascertaining the nature of call or business and determining appropriate action; 3) Organizing and maintaining logs, files and records; and 4) Reviewing travel arrangements and updating the travel calendar.
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Knowledge of office automation equipment software specifically Oracle for management information systems, Words, Excel, Powerpoint, scanner software and electronic publication files

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
4 years above high school(except Reporting Stenographer)
