The primary purpose of this position is to support Region 2, Caribbean Area Division with complex environmental compliance reviews related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), other Environmental Laws and Executive Orders. Writing/editing/tracking NEPA Environmental Assessments (EA). Utilizing technology and applications (MS Office suite Word, Excel, Power point) to conduct quantitative analysis to generate reports.

To qualify for this Environmental Protection Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:
Conducting and tracking multiple environmental and/or historic preservation reviews and/or critical analysis of impacts to the environment simultaneously,
Coordinating with a variety of stakeholders regarding environmental and/or historic preservation activities; and,
Providing recommendations to resolve complex issues to improve environmental and/or historic preservation programs.
