You will serve as a Division Process Manager in the Lifting and Handling Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Duties

You will ensure that work performed is accomplished in accordance with governing directives, instructions, plans, cost, quality, and schedule. You will develop short and long-range plans to provide manning, facilities, material, and equipment to support scheduled and unscheduled urgent work for the organizations covered. You will manage and organize work performed by others in accomplishing highly diverse and complex trade operations. You will analyze the problems identified in audits, surveillances, TRFB agenda items, incident reports, case histories, and other quality documents to determine causes and trends and recommends or directs appropriate corrective actions. You will be responsible for identifying improvements in the methods and means of accomplishing work and in directing or coordinating the implementation of process and performance improvements. You will provide evaluation and oversight of skills training to ensure improvements/changes to division/trades processes are incorporated, and that lesson plans are adjusted to address deficiencies and associated corrective actions. You will manage continual workforce training to ensure qualified personnel are available to meet planned and unplanned work and to support shifting priorities. You will schedule and approve leave, rate subordinate supervisors' performance, and make decisions or recommendations for discipline, promotions, awards, and training. You will participate with higher-level management in discussions on budget, staffing needs, acquisition of plant and minor property, and acquisition, modification, and maintenance of specialized facilities.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You must be willing and able to work an uncommon tour of duty (may include weekend, nights, overtime, or holidays).
  • You will be required to work a Shift Work schedule. A Shift Work schedule describes work performed with varying and/or rotating shifts.
  • You must be willing and able to climb ladders and scaffolding.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing trade processes, performance improvement programs, and conducting evaluations of resources (such as manning, material, equipment, facilities) to identify deficiencies and develop recommendations for the improved timeliness and availability of resources.
