The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to the Management & Strategy division and is supervised by the ASTC-M&S. Responsibilities relate primarily to financial management, purchasing, leasing, and contract management services. Other duties include office management.

Duties

Serve as timekeeper. Prepare and/or reviews travel authorizations and vouchers. Purchase supplies, equipment and services. Provide administrative training to NRCS and District employees on agency operating procedures and requirements, including use of government vehicles, accident reporting procedures for persona l injuries and vehicle accidents. Conduct the property inventory. Conduct annual vehicle inspection report, distributes license plates and charge cards associated with each vehicle, and produces monthly and quarterly reports on vehicles for state office use. Receive and distributes mail and email, answers telephone calls, establish and maintain office files, typing letters and other documents, monitors outgoing documentation under supervisor' s signature for grammar, format and technical accuracy.

Requirements

  • You must be a US Citizen or US National.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

  • Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Specialized Experience for GS-07: To qualify for the GS-07 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or higher in Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing a variety of administrative support services in support of a business or program office, assisting in preparing operating budgets, making purchases of office supplies, equipment, vehicle and tracking expenditures, providing timekeeping services and reconciling time and attendance documents, and reviewing incoming and outgoing correspondence and other administrative documents. Specialized Experience for GS-08: To qualify for the GS-08 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or higher in Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: performing a variety of administrative support services in support of a business or program office, preparing operating budgets for review, making purchases of office supplies and equipment and tracking expenditures, providing timekeeping services and reconciling time and attendance documents, making travel arrangements and reviewing travel reimbursement claims, and reviewing incoming and outgoing correspondence and other administrative documents. Note: There is no education substitution for the GS-07 or GS-08 level.
