Duties
Manages and administer the Security and Education program.
Serves as a Chief of Security and ensures adherence of physical security requirements for a military medical treatment facility.
Oversees policy and procedures, and techniques to evaluate the Anti-terrorism/Force Protection program.
Plans and assign work to be accomplished by subordinates.
Provides timely intelligence updates, intelligence summaries, threat assessments, and other intelligence products in direct support of the command’s mission.
Implements security policies and procedures for a military medical treatment facility.
Analyzes information on the effectiveness of ongoing personnel security programs gathered from direct and indirect sources.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a SECRET National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (ANACI) background check.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- This is an inclement Weather Essential position. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- This position has been designated as a Drug Testing Designated Position and is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing thereafter.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and annually thereafter.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

Specialized experience: One year of experience which includes: (1) Planning, developing and/or managing a variety of security programs within an organization, such as: physical security, crime prevention, operations security, and anti-terrorism; (2) Preparing, coordinating and/or implementing Standard Operating Procedures for security programs; and 3) Conducting training in all security and safety areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
