Duties
You will inform command leadership of potential impacts on fleet readiness and propose corrective action, solutions, and best practices.
You will coordinate interactions between leadership and staff to verify collaboration is occurring to meet counseling and advocacy customer needs.
You will assess the services provided by staff members to verify quality care is provided to service members and their families.
You will advise customers on work-life services programs (e.g., career, transition, relocation, personal financial management, employment, community life, emergency and crisis assistance, personal and family readiness).
Requirements

- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required.
- A minimum of two years full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience required.
- A minimum of two years full-time, post-licensure clinical experience in a clinical setting. A minimum of one-year post-masters clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of child abuse/neglect and/or spouse abuse required.
- This position is a TIER THREE clinical provider. Applicants must meet all of the following qualifications as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.7A.
Qualifications
Specialized experience as a TIER THREE clinical provider must demonstrate the following: 1. Assesses and treats child abuse/neglect or spouse abuse problems. 2. Provides counseling to assist clients to effectively resolve conflicts and problems. 3. Recommends solutions to individuals or families in crisis.
In addition to the above basic specialized experience required, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing leadership, management, policy, and program expertise for a Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) through diverse methods for delivering services by providing information and referral, educational instruction and training, and counseling and advocacy; 2) Providing program expertise for Career/Retention. Deployment/Readiness and Crisis Response to include Crisis Response, Family Advocacy, Clinical Counseling, Advocacy Support (including preventative education), Victim Services, Deployment Support, Information and Referral, Life Skills Education, Ombudsman Support, Outreach Services, Personal Financial Management, Sexual Assault Victim Intervention, Transition Assistance, Relocation Assistance, Exceptional Family Member Program, and Spouse Employment Assistance; and 3) Implementing and administering programs to provide leadership, direction, supervision, guidance, consultation, assistance, and coordination for all aspects to oversee work/life specialists, consultants, and education service facilitators. Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Applicants must possess a degree in social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
This position is a TIER THREE clinical care practitioner with clinical supervisor eligibility. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8:
1. Possess at least a masters or doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines:
a. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree, OR
b. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree, OR
c. Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR
d. Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a one-year APA accredited clinical internship
2. State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology.
3. When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates for privileging, must have achieved a passing score on that examination.
4. Must have engaged in two years, full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience AND have two years, full-time clinical experience post independent licensure or certification.
