The Supervisory Social Science Program Specialist (Whole Health Coach Supervisor) is located in the Whole Health System and reports to the Whole Health Program Manager. Operating in a Whole Health System of Care, the position functions with three core elements (Pathway, Well-Being, Clinical Care), seeking to create a personalized health plan for each Veteran. This is accomplished in the context of healing relationships and healing environments and a connection back to the Veteran's community.
Duties
The Whole Health Coach Supervisor works collaboratively and strategically with the Whole Health Program Manager, facility leadership, and Service Chiefs throughout the Memphis Veterans Administration Health Care System (MVAHS) with specific emphasis on advancing the role of Whole Health Coaching throughout the organization.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Provides direction and oversees implementation of Office of Patient Centered Care and Cultural Transformation (OPCC&CT) and VISN initiatives related to Health and Wellness Coaching.
Observes workers' performance, identifying the training needs of staff and provides development opportunities for these staff.
Supports implementation and coordination of one-on-one Whole Health Coaching across all sites of care in the Memphis VAHCS, including managing of scheduling and clinic grids for all Coaches.
Connects interested Veterans to Whole Health Coaches and responds to provider referrals across the organization for coaching services.
Develops and implements procedures in order to ensure the structural and process requirements, stipulated by VACO, for Whole Health Coaching program are satisfied.
Coordinates policies and procedures to assure Whole Health Coaching best practices and evidence- based guidelines related to well-being approaches are carried out at all sites in the MVAHCS.
Preforms other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/27/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Individual Occupational Requirements:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
AND
Specialized Experience at the GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have . OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond .
Preferred Experience: National certification through National Board of Health and Well-Being Coaches (NBHWC), or 100 hours of coaching experience.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The nature of the work for this position is primarily sedentary and there are no unusual physical
demands involved with completion of duties. Some travel is required.
