The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a security assistant, providing reports and analysis support and limited Live Scan program administrator assistant for the Unit.
Duties
1. Reports and Analysis Program. Inputs all traffic citations, accidents and incident/complaint reports into the Air Force Joint Information System.
2. DNA and Fingerprint Collection, Reporting and Tracking. Assists in the execution of the Live Scan Management System and provides guidance and assistance to supervisors and managers in the areas of fingerprint and DNA collection and to submit fingerprints of military and civilian subjects investigated for qualifying offenses to Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division of the FBI after apprehension/arrest, indictment/information, or subject interview and upon the investigator's determination, after advice from the servicing SJA or legal advisor, that probable cause exists that the person
committed a qualifying offense.
3. Administers the Air Force Joint Information System (AFJIS). Assists as functional systems administrator for AFJIS.
4. Performs clerical task. Conducts local records checks utilizing AFJIS for law enforcement and official government agencies.
5. Maintains controlled items. Maintains control logs, files, and accountability for tickets, and accident/incident reports that may be classified.

Qualifications
This is a TEMP position NTE 9/30/2024; the individual selected for this position may be non-competitively extended without further competition. Current Federal civilian employees may apply for this position using "Reinstatement" eligibility and if selected, a break in service of at least 4 calendar days may be required prior to appointment to this position.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for the Security Clerical and Assistance Series, 0086.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-4, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes practical knowledge of standardized security methods, rules, regulations, and principles to provide support to security specialists in security administration; and perform nonstandard security assignments and resolve recurring problems. Knowledge of security procedures pertaining to handling and disposing of classified material, such as classification markings, accountability and control, declassification, and destruction procedures.

EDUCATION: Have successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of mission, policy processes, procedures and customer service goals, as well as knowledge of general office clerical functions.
2. Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to support office and security operations and produce a variety of documents and reports.
3. Knowledge of basic security processes and procedures.
4. Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, and accomplish multiple ongoing projects.
5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
6. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
