You will serve as an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC in the Electronic Repair Division, Weapons Repair Department of Trident Refit Facility, Bangor, WA.
Duties
You will install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex components on Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) and associated equipment like Fire Control, Launch and Missile, Data Recording System, and Strategic/Tactical Navigation.
You will maintain complex systems that have frequent engineering changes such as design, construction, operating, and servicing procedures.
You will use and assist others in the use of various advanced automated electronic test equipment and specialized test equipment.
You will research plans, drawings, sketches, technical manuals, factory specifications, and other publications to assure that equipment meets operational specifications.
You will troubleshoot, install, repair malfunctions in complex electronic systems where circuit theory must be used to understand the operation of individual circuits and the possible interaction of other circuits which create a malfunction.
You will use mathematics including algebra, binary mathematics, and basic trigonometric functions in order to adapt standard formulas to the specific requirements of the integrated system.
You will review safety concerns prior to job assignments being issued and conduct pre-job and interactive briefs with shop personnel.

- You may be required to perform occasional sea duty.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position may be designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Customer Service and Technical Support within 12 months of appointment.
