About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance.
Duties
Check work in progress and when finished, checks for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.
Transport Aircraft ordnance following established safety precautions, security procedures, and documentation requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain annual certification required for the handling of ordnance.
- This position requires the incumbent to be cleared in accordance with AR 190-11, Physical Security of Arms. Ammunition, and Explosives (AAandE).
- This position requires a pre-appointment physical examination and meet established hearing and vision test.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to Lead or Supervise the work of an Aircraft Mechanic Leader. Resumes will be reviewed for experience and/or training which provided skills and knowledge of the following, ability to perform common Aircraft Mechanic Leader duties, having journey level experience with rotary wing aircraft maintenance on systems, subsystems and their associated components, assisting in planning, organizing work, and providing technical assistance, and interpreting technical orders such as technical manuals, schematics, and drawings. Working under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Make repairs from work stands where parts are difficult to reach. Required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to lift parts and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside or outside. Inside areas may be drafty and noisy. May be required to work outside in inclement weather. May suffer eye irritation from fumes, etc. Frequent exposure to possibility of cuts, burns, shocks, strains and broken bones. Working conditions are c3nsidered in the evaluation of the position.
