This position is in the Veteran and Family Member Programs (VFMP) Directorate, Office of Integrated Veteran Care (OIVC), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The incumbent serves as a Specialty Lead Contact Representative aligned under the Unit Supervisor in the Specialty Program Department (SPD).
Duties
Duties include, but may not be limited to:
Assists the Section Supervisor overseeing the work production of Specialty Contact Representatives (CR's).
Provides guidance and technical direction to approximately five to seven CR's, with varying levels of expertise.
Responsible for work planning and distribution; handles the day-to-day distribution of workload (applications and Customer Relationship Management tasks) and keeps the supervisor informed of any situations that may affect workloads so that the supervisor is able to redistribute and rebalance workloads or reassign priorities to improve workflow and increase productivity as necessary.
Performs reviews of claims within an automated claims processing system which creates a list of rejected claims due to discrepant eligibility information.
Maintains ongoing records of employee performance as set forth in the performance standards and keeps the supervisor informed of each employee's performance so that corrective action can be initiated where necessary or awards initiated where indicated.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour tour between the hours of 6:00am and 5:00pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/27/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-08 position, you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The work is primarily although some walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and carrying of loads weighing up to 20 pounds is required. Use of a computer is extensive.
