About the Position: This is a Program Manager (Operations), GS-0340-14 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division (NWD), Omaha District, Operations Division.
Duties
Participates with the Division Chief in directing activities and formulating plans for the overall management of the Division.
Serves as staff advisor to the Division Chief and as directed, or in the absence of the Division Chief, furnishes advice to the District Engineer in staff conferences with representatives of high echelons, at public hearings, etc.
Implements directives from higher authority, policies formulated by the Division Chief, personnel management, intra-branch and project cooperation and assures most efficient use of human and financial resources.
Serves as Operations Division representative in District deputies group working district wide initiatives and problem sets.
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret access security clearance for the duration of employment in this position.
- This position requires a financial disclosure OGE-450 and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Must complete a one-year supervisory probationary period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience directing activities for an office; AND 2) Experience advising superiors on technical and/or administrative procedures affecting multiple individuals; AND 3) Experience implementing directives from higher authorities; AND 4) Experience reviewing and making recommendations for operating budgets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
