The candidate will serve as a conference finance specialist in the Conference Program and AV Services (CPAVS) group in the NIST Public Affairs Office (PAO), performing day-to-day financial operation of conferences.
Duties
The candidate will serve as a conference finance specialist in the Conference Program and AV Services (CPAVS) group in the NIST Public Affairs Office (PAO), performing day-to-day financial operation of conferences, which include: analyzing planned versus actual conference expenditures; reviewing conference budgets; executing service invoices to clients; preparing and analyzing conference financial reports; executing procurement request submissions for services; completing credit card transactions; completing travel orders for staff; interpreting conference budget and financial guidelines when responding to client inquiries; and providing routine conference budget and finance guidance to Conference Program event planners.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must have one of the following:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related
or
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-7 (or ZA-I at NIST).Specialized experience is defined as experience performing day-to-day financial operation of conferences, tracking, and monitoring budget expenditures, reviewing conference budgets, preparing and tracking invoices, preparing financial reports, and processing procurement transactions and travel orders.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
